Who Am I?

I am a 32-year-old, father of three beautiful little girls, entrepreneur in training. I live joyously in the town I graduated college in and spend my days raising my children, exploring new enterprises and volunteering in my community.

In between, I struggle with right and wrong, like everyone else, and try my best to sleep soundly each night. As a father, I made some bad decisions early on and have spent many years making up for those choices.

Putting myself in that position forced me to not only think of my own actions, but those of the many millions of fathers in America and the world, who want to do right, but have found themselves between a perceived rock and a hard place.

I'm proof that a man can always fix his mistakes if he is willing to set his pride apart for the good of his children and society as a whole, and surprisingly, for each man himself. Absolute bliss has shrouded my life since returning to my childrens' lives. Their absence not only created a hole in my heart and made it easier to do the wrong thing, it caused a gap in my own identity to widen over time until I almost forgot who I was and what I was about.

No matter how long you have been apart from your children, or how little time you spend with them, remembering that you are in fact THE most important person in their life is all that is required to change these situations for the benefit of all involved.

Whether you are seeking inspiration to regain a divine place in your child's heart, or looking for empowerment through legal resources and support, you are in the right place. My road of fatherhood has led me to need both of these things in abundance and I hope my experience can make your paths less resistant. The past has taught me that while it takes our own decisiveness to get the ball rolling, knowing we have support and are not alone is nearly as important.

I created this community to support all fathers, but most importantly, those who are not currently in their childrens' lives. Your current position is understandable, but to accept it as final, is not. Not only will your children be missing half of who they are, YOU will be missing a part of who you are, and true happiness will always be just out of your reach. No rock, nor any hard place, is enough to make this an acceptable way of life.

I humbly ask you to poke around the site, read some stories from other fathers, check out the resource center, lurk around the forums and see for yourself how many others have been and are in your position. See how easy it was for others to reverse their conditions and the life-changing rewards that resulted from taking the first steps toward positive change.

I have been a "deadbeat dad" myself, the son of another. Yet today, I am in my own father's life and am showered with hugs, kisses and "I love you's" from my own children. My "door" is always open to any and all of you and I will reveal any part of my past.

In return, I only ask that you look honestly at yourselves and do your best to be who you were supposed to be. By reading this, you have already taken the most important step: being conscious of the fact you are not already there. For that, I thank you and wish you a pleasant road back.

If ever you need to reach me, drop me a line at aaron@dadviser.com and I'll personally reply as soon as humanly possible. In the meantime, enjoy the community, get what you need out of it and go be the dad you were born to be.
